Orca Team

Seattle based trio, ORCA TEAM, turns dreary romantic longings into music that is fun to dance to. The band features Leif Anders on vocals and bass, Jessica B. on guitar, and Dwayne Cullen on drums. Together they have toured throughout the States, and the UK and have shared the stage with Grass Widow, Thee Oh Sees, Throwing Muses, The Vaselines, The Coathangers, and many other notables in the indie world.

Their latest full length work, RESTRAINT, will be released June 14th, 2012 onto cassette by Cassingle and Loving It Records (Portland, OR) as well as on vinyl/CD on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records (Athens, GA).

Recorded at Earwig Studios in Seattle, WA, RESTRAINT showcases the band’s elevated maturity with clean production by Don Farewell. Combining strong vocal melodies, minimalist guitar work, frenetic bass lines and steadfast drumming, the band creates memorable pop songs that can withstand the fast changing undercurrents of the indie world. Leif Anders’ voice is clear and stable throughout the recordings with his significant range as he recalls the demise of past relationships, whilst trying to find new musings in a jaded world. The musical execution found in RESTRAINT suggests ORCA TEAM has been tightening their skills on the road, and has evolved from being cast as a retro outfit to one of fresh artistic depth.
